Great Capture of our highway engineering history. I was driven over these type bridges in the 30's by my Dad and later I drove myself over them in the 40's and 50's. My experience was that most of these were two way bridges (two way the latest in highway technology, ca 1930's). Back prior to the mid 1950's cars and even trucks were much smaller in width than post 1960 vehicles, so these bridges could fit two way traffic then. TomB
